Rescuers retrieve body of drowned girl

The body of one of the two girls who were feared drowned in the Vea Dam on March 6, has been retrieved by a combined team of police personnel and local rescuers.

Fifteen year old Jennifer Anyorigeya's body was spotted floating on the deeper portions of the dam on the morning of Monday.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Secretariat on Wednesday announced that it had received approval for 17 per cent increase in the allowances for 2009/2010 service personnel.
